Whether translating a small document or a complex series of manuals, FLS uses a finely tuned process to ensure our customers receive an authentic, accurate product, every time.
People often ask us, “What makes a good translation?” Our answer is the process! FLS has a consistent process for every job; large or small, translation or interpreting. Tried over time with unerring reliability, tweaked along the way, and proven to the utmost accuracy, we weren’t satisfied until we perfected our process!
ISO 9001 Quality Assurance. In 2009, FLS developed a Translation/Interpreting Quality Management System consisting of a Quality Assurance Manual and strict compliance to the requirements of the ISO 9001, EN 15038, ASTM F2575, and F2089. From assignment to completion, the FLS team, guided by our in-house practice managers, must comply with our internal T/I-QM system.
The FLS step-by-step process:
Drawing from our worldwide network of professional translators, FLS chooses the linguistic team for each project based on:
Professional experience—a minimum of 5 years
FLS translators and editors must also prove themselves according to the following criteria:
Responsiveness to each job
Subject matter expertise
2. Applying the FLS Quality Management System in Translating, Editing, and Proofing
Our management team works closely with the translation team, providing additional resources that include:
Research of terminology
Proofing of the final product
3. Memory Tools
FLS translators use memory tools such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource, and others, which ensure translations remain consistent and updates are performed efficiently and accurately, often with added cost savings for our clients.
4. Final Production
FLS provides the finished translation in electronic form, compatible with our customer’s system and software, and formatted like the original. We archive files on-site for future reference and updates.
Responsive delivery of each translation is our goal. We use a variety of utilities to achieve timely delivery including electronic means such as: email, the FLS File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and Dropbox.
We have an impressive list of guarantees!
100% Review Process
And most of all — Customer Satisfaction!
