Our answer is the process! FLS has a consistent process for every job — large or small, translation or interpretation. Tried over time with unerring reliability, tweaked along the way, and proven to the utmost accuracy, we still weren't satisfied!

ISO 9001 Quality Assurance. In 2009, FLS developed a Translation/Interpretation Quality Management System consisting of a Quality Assurance Manual and strict compliance to the requirements of the ISO 9001, EN 15038, ASTM F2575, and F2089. From assignment to completion, the FLS team, trained by our translation project managers, must comply with our internal T/I-QM system.

The FLS step-by-step process:

  1. Assignment. Drawing from our worldwide network of professional translators, FLS chooses as translators and editors, the best-qualified team of linguists for each project based on:

  1. Applying the FLS Quality Management System in Translating, Editing, and Proofing. Our management team works closely with the translation team, providing additional resources that include:
  • Research of terminology
  • Glossary development
  • Proofing of the final product
  1. Memory Tools. FLS translators use memory tools such as SDL Trados, DéjàVu, and others, which ensure translations remain consistent, and updates are performed efficiently and accurately, often with added cost savings for our clients.
  2. Final Production. FLS provides the finished translation in electronic form, compatible with our customer's system and software, and formatted like the original. We archive files onsite for future reference and updates.
  3. Delivery. Responsive delivery of the translation is our goal. We use a variety of utilities to achieve timely delivery including electronic means such as E-Mail, the FLS File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Dropbox, and others.
